DEMOGLOB is an Interdisciplinary Research Centre for the study of Democracy and Global Governance, instituted within the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento, whose main goals are to:

• to sponsor and coordinate research projects on the transformation of democracy within the national, European, and international context;
• to contribute to the development of theories concerning the processes of Europeanization, internationalization, and globalization;
• to study the transformation of the conflicts connected with the processes of internationalization and globalization.

The Centre aims at encouraging the collaboration among social scientists in investigating the above phenomena and at consolidating an already active network of national and international cooperation agreements on these topics. To this end, it organizes and sponsors events for the implementation and dissemination of scientific research and makes widely available (to schools, universities, public institutions, and private organizations) the competences that it accumulates in the following areas:

• processes of Europeanization
• Italy’s role in the European Union
