For those admitted, the next phase of the selection procedure consists of a multiple-choice test to assess basic knowledge on theoretical and methodological approaches and issues in sociology and social research.
The test will take place on Tuesday, June 10, at 14.00 (CET) and will last one hour. You can choose to take the test online or in person in Trento at the Department of Sociology and Social Research, via Verdi 26 (room: Laboratory 3).
If you intend to attend the exam online, please note the following:
- The test will take place in the form of a Computer-Based Exam on Safe Exam Browser and Video Conference Monitoring.
- Before the day of the exam, you must:
- download and install the Safe Exam Browser which blocks certain functions of the computer (Internet navigation, chat, right mouse button, print, etc.) while taking the test;
- download and install on another device (smartphone, tablet or laptop), different from the one you will use to take the test, the Zoom app that will be used for monitoring you during the test (i.e., to make sure that you are alone in the room, that you are not consulting textbooks or other devices during the test).
- If you already have a @unitn.it account, you can log in directly with that. If you don’t have a @unitn.it account but have registered through the enrollment form using SPID/CIE, you can access the "Cambio password con SPID o CIE" (Password Change with SPID or CIE) page to set a new password and find out your UniTrento username. If you don't have SPID/CIE access, you will be provided with a Moodle account as soon as possible.
- On the day of the exam, you will receive, from this email address, a link to the exam and a link to the Zoom meeting. You will be identified by showing your ID on the camera, so please make sure to have your ID at hand. Using your personal computer, click on the link to the test. Using a different device, click on the Zoom link to connect to the meeting and turn on your camera and audio. Upon request, show your ID on the camera then place the device in a position that allows you to frame yourself and the surrounding area. You will stay connected to the Zoom meeting for the duration of the exam.
Please also carefully observe the following rules during the test:
- No other individuals should be present in the room.
- You must remain seated at all times.
- Your webcam and microphone must remain active throughout the entire exam, and the camera should provide the widest possible view of both you and your surroundings. The use of headphones or earphones is strictly prohibited.
- Any noise should be avoided, as the exam is conducted with both microphone and webcam continuously on.
- The use of any documents or technological aids is strictly prohibited, unless explicitly authorized by the instructor or examination committee.
- You are required to comply with any instructions given by the instructor to ensure the proper conduct of the exam.
- In the event of a connection interruption, you must attempt to reconnect immediately (please note that the Moodle quiz timer will continue to run). If the interruption lasts several minutes, the instructor may decide whether or not to invalidate the exam.
