PhD candidates benefit from a dedicated seminar series featuring national and international speakers. They actively engage in organizing and managing the seminar series, taking turns discussing the talk, thereby developing skills necessary to assume the role of a 'discussant' at academic conferences. Additionally, candidates are encouraged to propose potential speakers.
Furthermore, they are invited to participate in the seminar series of the Department of Sociology and Social Research , as well as methodological seminars and short courses organized by the Hans Schadee Methods Center. They also have the opportunity to join the 'Methods Clinic,' where they can present their thesis projects for a "clinical examination" receiving tailored advice and insights from experienced instructors in the respective methodology, as well as fellow seminar participants.
